A luxury guest ranch situated just outside the town of Philipsburg in Montana is the most expensive accommodation option anywhere in America this summer, a new survey shows.
The survey by Luxury-Hotels.com compared prices at every high-end hotel across the US during the months of July and August 2019. A comparison was then made between each property, based on the cheapest available price for a double room.
Emerging as the priciest hotel was The Ranch at Rock Creek, a 5-star ‘dude’ ranch in the suburbs of Philipsburg, a small town in western Montana. Here, summer guests are likely to have to pay at least $3,600 per night.
The second most expensive option is the Amangiri resort, a secluded hideaway in Canyon Point, Utah, where the most affordable rate is $2,661 per night this summer. Another ranch-style hotel, The Lodge & Spa at Brush Creek in Saratoga, Wyoming, completes the top three most expensive hotels with a cheapest rate of $2,237 per night.
As well as the Ranch at Rock Creek, two other Montana ranches also feature in the top ten, with The Resort at Paws Up ($1,526) in Greenough and the Triple Creek Ranch ($1,400) in Darby both representing the western state. Elsewhere in the survey’s findings, The Point ($2,327), nestled on the banks of Lake Placid, represents the most expensive hotel in New York State this summer.
Below is a list of the 20 most expensive luxury hotels in the US this summer. The rates shown reflect the price (including all taxes and fees) for the most affordable double room in each property during July and August 2019.
About the survey
The survey was conducted in June 2019. For each luxury hotel in the United States, the cheapest available rate for a double room during the months of July and August was recorded, based on prices given by leading hotel booking websites. For the purposes of the survey, three-night stays were used as a point of comparison. Cheaper rates may be available for stays of four nights or more.
