A beautiful resort located at the tip of the Baja Peninsula, and styled on the great Mexican haçiendas of old, has been revealed as Mexico’s most expensive luxury hotel in a new survey by Luxury-Hotels.com.
The survey looked at rates at high-end hotels and resorts across the country, using the cheapest double room during the months of January and February 2018 as the point of comparison. These months are typically the time of the year when accommodation costs in Mexico are at their highest.
Nestled in the vibrant tourist resort of Los Cabos, Las Ventanas al Paraiso came top of the survey’s rankings with a minimum rate of $1,260 per night. The second and third most expensive options, according to the survey, are the Four Seasons and the Imanta Resort, both located in the charming fishing village of Punta Mita near the resort town of Puerto Vallarta, with rates of £1,250 and £1,245, respectively.
Looking at the other hotels and resorts that feature in the top ten, four others are also situated in Los Cabos, another in Punta Mita and the remaining two in the Riviera Maya on Mexico’s Caribbean coast,
The table below shows the 10 priciest luxury hotels and resorts in Mexico. The rates shown reflect the cost for the cheapest available room in each property during January and February 2018.
About the survey
The survey was conducted in December 2017. For every luxury hotel in Mexico, the cheapest available rate for a double room during the months of January and February was recorded, based on prices given by leading hotel booking websites. Only 2-3 night stays were considered for the survey, excluding Sunday-Monday. More affordable rates may be available for stays of four nights or more.
