Montana is home to the United States’ most expensive luxury hotel. A recent survey from Luxury-Hotels.com came to this determination after comparing the rates for the 2014 summer season of all luxury hotels situated in the USA.
In coming up with the rankings, Luxury-Hotels.com established the rate for each luxury hotel’s most affordable double room. The traditional summer season, Memorial Day to Labor Day, served as the basis of comparison. When the results were compiled, Montana’s Ranch at Rock Creek took the top spot. A stone’s throw away from the historic mining town of Philipsburg, the Ranch at Rock Creek is the most expensive American luxury hotel this summer.
Taking the second spot on the survey is the Point Resort. Tucked along the Adirondack Park boundaries, within close proximity to Lake Placid, an average overnight rate of $2138 landed this luxury hotel in the number two position. Ranking as the third most expensive luxury hotel is the Resort at Paws Up. An overnight stay in this Montana luxury hotel this summer will set guests back an average of $1847.
Following are the 20 most expensive luxury hotels in the USA. The rates listed reflect the average daily price for the most affordable double room in each hotel. The period spanning May 26 through September 1, 2014 was used to determine the rankings.
About the Methodology:
For all luxury hotels in the USA, the average rate for the cheapest available double room was calculated for the summer period spanning May 26 through September 1, 2014. Only such hotels offering a minimum of 10 rooms were considered. The rates were established in May and June and were either taken from the respective hotels’ websites or drawn from the leading hotel-booking sites. In all cases, the lowest available price was used in tabulating the results.
