Survey: The most expensive hotels in Europe

When it comes to European hotels, nowhere is a stay more expensive this summer than in the United Kingdom. That’s the discovery of a recent survey from Luxury-Hotels.com.

The survey used the cheapest available rate for a double room at luxury hotels across the continent in coming up with the rankings. The months of July and August 2016 served as the basis of comparison. Only hotels with 15 rooms or more were considered.

Topping the rankings was The Londoner. Situated in Greater London, United Kingdom, The Londoner took the top spot on the survey with a minimum summer rate of $8175. Coming in second at $8073 was Henrys Townhouse Marylebone, also located in Greater London. Rounding out the Top 3 was La Reserve Paris Hotel & Spa at $8046 for its least expensive room. This luxury hotel’s prime location in Ile-de-France, France earned it the survey’s third spot.

The following table shows the 10 most expensive hotels in Europe this summer. The prices listed indicate the cheapest available rate for a double room during the period spanning July 1 to August 31, 2016.

About the Methodology:
The survey was conducted in June 2016. For each luxury hotel located in Europe, the cheapest available rate for a double room during the months of July and August was established. Only two or three-night stays were considered, excluding Sundays and Mondays. Therefore, for stays of four nights or more, more affordable rates may be available.
